When crossing the state border, passengers of railway, motor and air transport pass through immigration and customs control. Immigration and customs control desks are located at the Kharkiv Airport and at the Kharkiv-Passazhyrsky Railway Station. If you have goods to declare, you should fill in a customs declaration. Personal belongings can be easily brought in and out of Ukraine if they are declared orally or in writing. For further information, please contact Kharkiv Customs Office at 775-53-67. One person is allowed to bring an equivalent of €10,000 in cash into Ukraine without filling in a customs declaration form. A bigger sum can be brought into Ukraine only with supporting documents confirming that this exact sum was withdrawn from a bank account (or from any other financial institution). Cash exceeding the equivalent of €10,000 is subject to declaring in writing. Special permits are required to import or export weapons, animals and medications (over 5 packages of one item or the amount exceeding the dosage needed by one patient for one course of treatment). Cultural values registered at the State Inventory of National and Cultural Heritage, being part of the National Archive Fund or the Museum Fund of Ukraine are not allowed to be exported from Ukraine.
