The Marshal Konev Height Memorial

The ‘Marshal Konev Height’ Memorial and ‘Kharkiv Region in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) of 1941–1945’ Museum are situated close to the village of Solonytsivka, Derhachi District. It was from this site that the commander of the Step Front I. Konev gave an order to assault Khariv in August 1943. On 23 August 1943 Kharkiv was completely liberated. Ten rifle divisions which participated in this oper­ation were given the honourary title of Kharkiv division.
